telc Deutsch B2-C1 Medizin (Medical German Exam) is a German language test covering two levels for medical doctors who want to work in a hospital in Germany. This exam tests your proficiency in the German language spoken in German hospitals, which is specific to the field of medicine. The vocabulary and structural competences expected in the exam are at the upper level of the B2 and C1 exams. The exam assesses your performance in four main skills: Listening, reading, writing and speaking. At the end of the exam, it is documented in detail in which sub-test you are at B2 level and which at C1 level.
Language Use at B2 and C1 Levels
At level B2 you are able to express yourself clearly and in detail, to explain your point of view successfully and to develop solutions with your interlocutor. You have a wide vocabulary in your own speciality and in most general subjects. You have a good command of grammar.
At level C1 you can express yourself fluently and spontaneously. You can understand colloquial expressions and use different styles consciously. You can keep your ability to use grammatical structures correctly constantly high.
What is the structure of the exam?
The exam consists of two parts, written and oral. The written part takes approximately 3 hours. The oral exam can be held on the same day as the written exam or on another day. A preparation period of 10 minutes is foreseen before the oral exam. After the first part of the oral exam (after the anamnesis is taken), an additional 5 minutes is given for preparation.
